Toyota Canada Inc. and Toyota Financial Services donate $50,000 to Canadian Red Cross B.C. Fires Appeal

(TORONTO, ONTARIO – July 18, 2017) As fast moving fires in British Columbia are forcing thousands of people from their homes, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) and Toyota Financial Services (TFS) are contributing $50,000 to help the Canadian Red Cross with their ongoing relief efforts in the affected communities.

“Our thoughts go out to those in the B.C. communities affected by the fires,” said Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO, Toyota Canada Inc. “It’s been amazing to see neighbouring groups rally together and provide support to those in need, and we extend our support for the ongoing efforts.”

“At times of disasters such as these, we need to come together and lend a helping hand,” added Darren Cooper, President of Toyota Financial Services “We commend the work that the Canadian Red Cross is doing on the ground as they provide relief to individuals, families and communities impacted by the fires.”

The financial assistance will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross, which will support impacted individuals, families and communities affected by the B.C. wildfires. Through the help of volunteers and staff who have been activated across the country, the Canadian Red Cross is providing a variety of services to meet the needs of communities affected by the fires including registration, financial assistance, shelter and information.
