Meet the new King of the hill

Valley, rock, stream, mud, sand, snow and ice - the 2008 FJ Cruiser. The culmination of a half-century of truck know-how, Toyota FJ Cruiser is as rough and ready as its legendary namesake, the FJ40 Landcruiser, but with some new tricks all its own. Available in two bruising models: a 5-speed Automatic with shift-on-the-fly 4-Wheel Drive and a 6-speed Manual featuring true Full-Time 4-Wheel Drive. Both pack a powerful V6 and are available in three extremely well-equipped Grades.

The Base FJ leaves little to be desired. Here's a taste: 32'' Tires; 17'' Wheels, Centre Differential Lock [Manual only] Rear Differential Lock [standard on Manual and available on Automatic], Anti-Lock Braking System, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Front Tow Hook, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Power Tailgate Lock, AM/FM/CD with MP3/WMA Player and Audio mini-plug.

The B Package accommodates, adding to FJ's long list of standard features with Active Traction Control, Rear Differential Lock [Automatic], Back-up Sonar, Roof Rack, and Privacy Glass, Keyless Entry, Power Mirrors with Image Lamps, Rear Wiper and Cruise Control.

The C Package really pumps up the volume with features like the FJammer High Grade Audio System, In-Dash 6-CD Changer, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, 8 Speakers, Accessory Meters [Outside Temperature Gauge, Altimeter, Compass], Front Seat Mounted Side Airbags, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, Available 400 Watt / 115 Volt Power Outlet, Colour-Keyed Interior Door Trim, Roof Rack and Cargo Liner.

Rugged

The FJ Cruiser is built on an exceptionally rugged platform, with a clean, flat underbelly and a relatively short but notably wide body. FJ's stance is as stable in execution as it is powerful in expression. Short overhangs - front and rear - provide exceptional approach, departure and breakover angles. And, with the bulk of weight firmly between the front and rear axles, FJ is extremely adept at navigating tight spots and even tighter corners.

Flexible

Access Doors: FJ's Rear Access Doors open wide - almost 90° - for easy entry and exit or loading and unloading.

Rear Hatch: FJ features a two-part Rear Hatch with a Bumper Step. The Hatch opens wide and includes a Gas Strut Damper to keep the door open for convenient loading and unloading. Use the Flip-up Glass feature to load and unload smaller or longer items.

Door Handles: Exterior Doors feature over-sized handles for ease of use even when wearing large winter gloves.

Instrument Panel

The Instrument Panel is the unquestioned focal point of a vehicle's interior - and FJ's is worthy of special attention. Dual horizontal pipes run the length of the Panel and frame the Inset Instrumentation. The Colour-Keyed Trim surrounding the AC and Audio Controls reinforces the mechanical, tool-like feel of the interior
