The Toyota Vehicle Team at 1000 Islands Toyota Highlights Production of New RAV4 Vehicles

July 10, 2018 - Brockville, ON-based Toyota dealers, 1000 Islands Toyota are now highlighting the production of RAV4 vehicles set to take place in Ontario over the coming years. Toyota has just invested over $1.4billion to upgrade two plants in Ontario for the next generation of the RAV4 crossover vehicles. The government of Ontario and the federal government have each committed $110 million to the project, which will see increased vehicle production and more employment across the two Ontario plants for the years ahead.

Ontario has become a global auto manufacturing hub in recent years as the leading manufacturers capitalize on the available skills and resources the province has to offer. Toyota will be upgrading the two plants, in Cambridge and in Woodstock, in order to accommodate the increasing demands for RAV4 vehicles.

The project is set to help the plants retain 8,000 jobs and create an additional 45 jobs across the two sites. The 2019 RAV4 is set to go into production shortly and the two plants will continue producing Toyota vehicles for the long-term, as the company continues to make investments both in its brand and in the local economy.
