Why should I service my vehicle every 8,000 km or 6 months?

The Manufacturer recommends that service is performed every 8000km's of every 6 months whichever comes first. The reason is that at 8000 km's the engines oil viscosity can break down, which leads to increased wear on internal engine components. The reason for servicing on a time basis is to reduce the chance of the vehicles components seizing, and or leading to premature failure. It is sometimes worse to let a vehicle sit for a period of time, than to drive it every day.
