What You Should Know About the New 2021 Toyota Hybrid RAV4 Prime
The RAV4 Prime is the first plug-in hybrid vehicle in the RAV4 lineup. For eco-conscious buyers this could be exactly the SUV they're looking for. It combines a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with two Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motors, one per axle. This creates a total of 302 horsepower, making it the most powerful 2021 RAV4 available.
This also blows away last year's hybrid RAV4, which was only capable of 219HP. It's a serious improvement for the RAV4 Prime, giving it the oomph that car lovers are looking for… but won't feel guilty about! Also, in the case of the RAV4 Prime, increased power doesn't mean decreased gas mileage. The 2021 RAV4 Prime still gets 40MPG in the city and 36MPG on the highway, virtually identical to last year's hybrid. It's the best combination of power, performance, and mileage yet in RAV4 hybrid.
Go All-Electric
If you're looking to go all-electric, the RAV4 Prime is rated for approximately 42 miles on a single charge. Of course, you still always have the option of driving in hybrid mode for maximum distance. It's the best of both worlds!
As a RAV4, the Prime still offers everything you'd expect from the world's best-selling SUV. You have plenty of cargo space - 33.5 cubic feet - as well as a spacious, comfortable interior. There's a big 8-inch touchscreen for controlling and interfacing with the vehicle's systems, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Heated front and rear seats will be especially appreciated in the winter months!
In short, the RAV4 Prime is the all-around winner. The most powerful RAV4 is also the most fuel-efficient and doesn’t sacrifice the reliability, comfort, and safety features of the traditional RAV4.
